I posted this in here because it's a non LC2 engine.

I'm rebuilding a 3800 L67 for an engine swap. It's the first engine I've ever rebuilt, so I've hit a few roadblocks along the way.

The machine shop just finished with the block, and I'm getting ready for reassembly. The pistons look a little questionable to me. As you can see in the pic, there's wear in the pin groove and I'm not sure if it's acceptable. How can I check it, or can someone more experienced tell me from the picture that it's junk?

Thanks!

i'm thinking you need to get some better pics. Hard to see whats going there.

To give you a serious answer....I've built plenty of motors, when in doubt change it. By looking at the pics I would just get new ones my friend.

Done and done, man. Thanks for the info.

The good news is I took advantage of the situation and upped the compression ratio from 8.5:1 to 9.4:1. Should get a little more kick out of her.
