Asked this years ago on a stock build...putting the stock motor on a stand for safe keeping building a new motor to beat on...forged Ross pistons, K1 rods, Eagle crank, Billet mains, internally balanced, roller cam, Champion heads and intake. I will be running plenty of boost and Cometic head gaskets...still bolts of go with studs?

Bolts. Anything happens to the HG( which it probably wont) you can pull the heads while motor is in the car.

Contact Fastair6 on here. We built a set of studs for his car and he should be able to give you some solid feedback. I did a bunch of work finding the right ones for his car.
Thanks,
Bob

Studs if you can find them. They can be unscrewed in the car if the head needs to be pulled. Studs have a different clamping force than bolts...

Just unscrew head studs like the bolts .. simple and work.. may need to trim header flange on some

Two factors. One is your going to have some drama with the header flanges. These are not GN headers. Even with the bolts there is drama on the lower row. Just not as bad.
I'm def a fan of using studs on a Buick build.. just not on a TTA.

Thanks, going to stick with bolts...I have ARP Pro Series 12-point bolts with washers on the stock heads now and remember either grinding a flat on the washer or notching the header flange wasn't a big deal. Ordered a new set of Pro Series 12-point (200 tensile strength) bolts and washers from ARP for the new motor...should be here in a few days.

Here are the part numbers to buy direct from ARP:
7/16-14 x 2.375" (8)
ARP P/N 5AP-2.500-1 ($4.62 ea.)
(note these are .125" longer)
7/16-14 x 3.500" (4)
ARP P/N 5AP-3.450-1 ($4.96 ea.)
(note these are .050" shorter)
7/16-14 x 4.500" (4)
ARP P/N 5AP-4.500-1 ($5.45 ea.)
7/16 Washers (16)
ARP P/N 200-8509 ($0.99 ea.)
