Had an absolutely horrible experience trying to give those guys business. I placed an $800.00 parts order in March, some 12 weeks ago and counting. At first, I called periodically and checked in, speaking with Andy. I could tell they didn't run the tightest ship in the order fulfillment dept. At any rate, I gave them the benefit of the doubt and waited.

After 4 weeks, they began telling me my order "would ship today or tomorrow." This went on for another 4 weeks. Both Andy and Art confirmed on at least 5 separate occasions that my order would ship that very day. Each time I called, they sounded even more stupified than the last. Except for the grunts, errrs and uhhhhs, they were pretty much speechless the last three times I called them. Oh, I forgot to mention the numerous broken promises for a return courtesy call confirming my shipment status. This customer service fiasco was mildly tolerable, since my car was not ready yet, and they had not charged my credit card - that is until the first of June.

Low and behold, my account was finally charged on June 6, 2006 for the full amount. "This is it," I thought. Well, I called just to make sure. I actually received a tracking number, and a promise of delivery - Thursday June 8. Would you believe I was actually surprised when the shipment didn't arrive?

Turns out, Art gave me a dummy tracking number - he created a shipping label for a box that didn't exist. As confirmed with FedEx, the package was never scheduled for pickup. When I confronted Andy and Art, they insisted that FedEx lost the package. To their credit, Art and Andy promised a new shipment, but failed to give me a tracking number. Well I'm still waiting for that one to arrive - until today that is. I finally disputed the charge on my credit card, and had to file a fraud claim. Still haven't heard a peep from either Andy or Art. Makes me wonder how FedEx stays in business, what considering how many packages they lose.

Can anyone recommend a good tranny parts supplier?

I think there is another trans place on here to  PTS or something like that .. ask for my best buddy Bruce

I don't understand... they didn't charge your card till June 6th; if you were in a rush, why didn't you just go somewhere else? After the 1st month you should have known that it would take awhile yet you had 3 months where your order was just a dream floating in some purgatorial void. Since they charged your card, it was 2 weeks for shipping, which IMO is acceptable. Maybe they didn't have all the parts or stuff was backordered.

I don't like to wait either, but I have given many people leisure in getting my parts shipped to me. Some folks are zippity quick, some are dirt slow. And these are for parts for my only vehicle. Reality is, no parts for any car are needed that much. I ride a bike 12mi to work when my car is down and I enjoy it, not to mention getting some fresh air and excercise. So try not to stress out, you'll live longer.

Guess what showed up on the door step today. Unbelievable.

Arts company has been going through a lot of changes, and they maybe a little behind on shipping items out if state, i know for a fact it took them 4 weeks to get my car trannie shifting the way i wanted too being there everyday to oversee the progress, he has all brand new staff and they basically need to learn how to build trannies again..

I heard there is a guy in vegas who is the SH** now and does good work at building trannies his name is Len Freeman or something like that..

I think Art is over 70 years old. Give him a break. So it took a couple of weeks after charge to recieve parts, that's not that bad. Relax.

I can't comment on Art Carr, but Len truly is the Sh!t !!!

He builds a mean tranny and stands behind his work..... and he has done numerous favours for me that have helped me out with both of my cars. I would not hesitate to recommend anyone to go see him for tranny service, or for any TR specific work.

I guess I should be buying him a beer whne I see him in a few weeks at Turbo Thunder in Washington.....

So if you ordered something on March 12th and did not receive it until mid June, it would be no big deal? Even if they told you for a month that it will ship tomorrow and even gave you fake tracking numbers?

Maybe if he had said it would be 3 months before you receive your parts it would be no big deal .

Thank you. My point exactly. Why not be up front? I was never mad about it taking a long time. It was the series of misleading statements along the way, and most importantly, the misleading statments after my card was charged.

A liar is worse than a thief! If a person tells me they are going to do something that what they should do. We know what to do with a thief (shoot them or stay away from them) a liar can cost you much more to or money by stringing you along. Maybe I'm old fashion but your word, your family, and your health is all you got. But what do I know I was dumb enough to buy a turbo V-6.

So would you trust that? I wouldn't want trial & error on my car.
