need to know how much slip these have. 9" "n" stall. thanks. Getting ready to have it modded to work with a TH400.

10-12% in a 130 mph, 3600 lb car car crossing the line at 1:1. Some are worse than that. Ive seen lower slip numbers in cars with less power.

with so much slippage what should be engine rpm be at 130 mph with a 28 in tire????

About 6000 crossing the line. Keep in mind that the trap speed is less than the actual mph as you cross the line. The trap speed is your average speed from 1260ft to 1320 ft. 10-12% is not so much compared to other converters in the same price range. But with the repeat performances of PTC converters its hard to justify spending the $ on other similarly priced units imo. Not to say the other units wont work, im saying that eh PTC units are showing gains down low and up top that are evident of a converter that is typically twice as much money. 3-4mph fo around $1k in a 125+mph car. Ill take it. Theres not much you can buy or do that will give you that much gain for the $ spent and its always there every time you run it. It never goes away.

I get the same slippage with my AC "N" stall...through the traps at 6050 RPM...128-130 MPH...28x9 slick...which is really a 27" tire...as for 10-12% slippage not being so bad...I guess to each his own...but I think it sucks..I know you said in that "price range"...still sucks IMO...that's why I just ordered a PTC...

Agreed. There is no one around that can compare to the product that PTC has for the $ at this time that im aware of. Most high hp TR's have more than 10-12% so in reality its not as bad as most of them.

Scott,

Let us know how you do after the converter swap.

Will do...but unfortunately it won't be until after Christmas...will take a couple weeks for the converter...install time...by then it's the holidays and no racing anywhere...

I have the Art-Carr 9" "N" stall 3700lb car and the last time this issue came up there was a certian calculator to determine the slipage and I had something like 3%-5% or so..

I would like to find it cause I would like see the results again.

TCI tech info has the calc.I just sent my converter to get modded for the 400, I would love 4%.
