So as the title said i got to eat with Dave Mclellanthe Chief Engineer of the corvette from 75-92 tonight and BS'd and talked about all sorts of things. He was a great guy with all sorts of knowledge. Well being a diehard turbo buick member i decided to ask him how he felt about the GNs stomping all over the vettes when he was in charge. the dialog goes as written below...

Me: so how do you feel about how the turbo buicks were out performing the corvettes while you were in charge?

Dave: Short silence and smirk....Whats your weak point?

Me: Handling

Dave: Exactly and if you ran them as hard as long as the corvette could they would overheat.

Later in the night i asked him what the main basis of design is when they are working on building a new platform like the C4,C5 and on... With No lag in response he said "To beat the Grand National" with all his joking set a side i think we both knew there was some truth in it! ;)

As the night went on we talked about many other things from national news to turbo V6 performance. What a great night and a great chance.

Those kind of conversations are neat to have..But "Handling" isn't our weak point anymore!!

Sounds like you had a good time..

Congrats man, that sounds like a cool evening. Not too often do you get to mix it up with guys who led design and engineer of cool stuff, especially in the past.
