when your installing the ATR downpipe are you supposed to reuse that round graphite donut that goes in between the turbo and the downpipe? I read postons catalog and they said your not supposed to use it with an aftermarket downpipe.
thanks

You downpipe should have come with a new donut gasket. If not call ATR for one. I run a donut gasket(came with downpipe) on mine with no leaks.

i use the stock 2 piece with no problem...

You would think they would send new donut gaskets with the purchase of a downpipe......

buicks arent their livelihood anymore.. remember that theyve branched out to all the import stuff now..

YOU ARE GOING TO NEED A DONUT THERE I THOUGHT I DIDNT NEED IT EITHER CAUSE IT WAS FLARED OUT AND FIT SNUG BUT THEN I DROVE THE CAR IT LEAKED WATER ON THE VALVE COVER AND WAS LEAKING WHEN IT GOT HOT PUT IN DONUT NO PROBLEMS EVER SINCE

ANTHONY

thanks anthony, i was just going to run it without one because it looked like it fit good. I will have to check if the local muffler shop has them because i dont feel like paying $24+ shipping from postons.

Autozone stocks these as well.

You may need to strangle the guy behind the counter though. The part they stock doesn't say it's for '84 turbo buick. So, I'm sure he'll say "Not in stock". The one they have is for a later model front drive application. Take your old one in, or the exhaust housing in, and match it up.

I need one of these to fix a leak in my stock exhaust... the original donut is all misshapen and falling apart. Do you know specifically what part to ask for, and what specific late model FWD year/model it owuld be listed for? Any help would be much appreciated!

AHA! I found one first try at my local Advance discount auto parts store. They had it listed for an 85 regal with the turbo motor, as an exhaust gasket, for 3.89, a nice lead one. I just installed it... if fight perfectly, and when i started the car back up, there was not even the slightest leak :)

Just got one form a TR supplier. :o. The minor diameter is 2.25". Not big enough (?) for a 2.5" DP but was SPECIFICALLY sold for this 2.5" set-up. Cost was $19.00, but shipping cost was $9.00 and noticed after I recieved the item. This is NOT an issue about the cost at all, but, more about the priciple of the issue. Just wish I would have been told about the shipping cost for a standard delivery. Not a "good way" to get repeat business unless you are the ABSOLUTE LAST resort.

In the end, it is like paying taxes. Some states do not have state income taxes but either way, the state will get your money through other means! :p

FlaBoy,
Do you remember the PN?

got a heater core for my 65 special next day
pcv grommet is stock
