Ive seen some cars go pretty fast with one of these and I have to imagine all this time later there are ways to really improve the cooling. For starters, you could rig up a tank for non street use and put ice water in it and have a valve to change the flow of water when racing. Youd have to haul a lot of ice around with you but back in the day when cold boxes were all the rage, everyone did that anyway.
 
There was a little bit of surge because of what i think using a small ball bearing turbo spooling so fast and the system had a really small 2" neck off the turbo and a really short way to travel to the throttle body, the body of the unit is pretty small and could have benefited being a bit bigger imo,

but i had the heat ex changer tapped for a temp sensor and monitored liquid temps and it really recovered quick after a wot run ,always 10-15 degrees above ambient and when the weather was around 50 degrees it worked even better.
