There is a buzz around my work about a website named WWW.ZABASEARCH.COM. If u go to it and see what information is available to anyone, about anyone with internet access you might find it a lil disturbing. I believe the info obtained may be credit based, but I'm not sure. Some of the people we checked were especially pissed about there phone # being shown when they believed it to be an unlisted # with the phone company. Others were a lil more upset about the quick and easy directions u can obtain to the persons house ur lookin for. oh yeah just incase ur not sure about the house u can also pull up an arial satellite photo and zoom in to see the guys back yard pool. Apparently the right to privacy is not honored by this website. Try it and see what im talkin about. I believe you can email the company and request that your info be removed. Ill try to find it and post it for those interested.

      WTF?

WOW

Thats kinda scary but goes with todays technology!

If it's any consolation, our Detective Bureau uses it. What's that tell 'ya?

Be very wary of entering your information in such "search engines". Some are designed to HARVEST information that people enter.

If you review the agreement, it says you can have data removed, but you have to email them. That is kind of scary, I saw the satelite photo of our old house with my chevelle parked in front.

it probably just compiles stuff from places like terraserver, google, yahoo and whitepages.com.

i don't see anything particularly scary about it. that info has been available to other places for a long time. you just have to know how to search for it.

But with zaba, you don't even have to pay for an address. Most of the other sites require paying for information. Though it is cheap to find someone.

yeah maybe our govt. should be using it to find bin laden , how about that .

That site is Scary!!! it reminds me of a book called 1984 (written in 1940somthing)

This sucks. It doesnt show my current address, but it goes back to all my addresses in the past 23 years.
What pisses me off, is that it led to this:

Comprehensive Background Check - $39.95 view sample
Subject: %%%%%, BRENT G, Age: 33

1 unique address in %%%%%
2 unique addresses in %%%%%
3 unique addresses in %%%%%
1 unique address in %%%%%
1 unique address in %%%%%
Also included: current address
current phone
up to 20 year address history
birth date
aliases / maiden names
property ownership
bankruptcies
tax liens & judgments
relatives
roommates
neighbors
personal assets
marriages & divorces
website ownership

Add nationwide criminal records for only $10.00 more.

DAMN !! Now I know why these idiots keep calling my parents(who live in a house I sold them years ago!)number looking for me...Old addresses, wrong phone #'s...Close, but no cigar...still very scary indeed !

Mine's all f'd up. Apparently they make some 'assumptions'. My number is unlisted, always has been. It doesn't appear in the list, but the number I used to register my domain names is in there (it's bogus). That tells me that they're getting at least some of their information from WHOIS searches.

My dad has the same name, different middle initial. His middle initial does not appear on the list, but a whole bunch of others appear at his address and phone number. His birth year and address appears for me as well as other guys with the same name. Their system has mashed a lot of data together that doesn't fit.

If law enforcement is using that stuff they're being sadly misled.
