Yes the FIRE extinguisher is a great Idea. I keep one in the trunk of the GN but I think it would be better suited under the seat.

The 3rd pic down looks like there was an extinguisher sprayed around. I don't see a cause listed for it to cook like that. I hope never to see that happen to my car.

FWIW this is a good example of why Summit sells a Halon system for like $500, one pull of the cord and this guys car coulda been saved. Also shows what can happen to any car super fast or stock.

500 bucks is cheap insurance and if you never need it thats cool but if you need it and dont have it like this guy its worth a whole lot more.

We pulled up on a '64 'vette convertible burning about that badly one night in front of a guys house. Said he had just broken up with his girlfriend a couple of hours earlier. He said "I know that b_ tch did it! She knew I loved this car more than anything, including her. She couldn't stand it"
Believe it or not, he salvaged the frame and some other parts and rebuilt the car from the frame up. Must have cost him a fortune. He never left the 'vette outside overnight again either.

GOD that would suck. imagine pouring all the time and money into a car, and if you are a car guy like me you love your car more than almost anything. only to see it melt down before your eyes nd there is not a damn thing you can do about it. that's like watching your girlfriend getting raped! (bad example but almost as painful.)

I've been fighting fires for over 20 years and it looked pretty darned real to me.

Makes it a good idea the next time we all change our oil to check the condition of the fuel lines where they pass thru the frame area up front as I've seen lines that were wearing metal to metal on the crossmember area and looked to be very close to going thru. Don't want to hear about any TR carbecues

It was like his fp was supplying-weird. Maybe a secondary fp to a n2o setup was running. Those tupperware panels shure lit -off.
Only thing worse than this is spontaneous human conmbustion.
