I had my TA-60 put on today and my stock turbo is a hazy white on the compressor side. Wouldn't this indicate running on the lean side? Also, my MAF counts (according to my SM2) are around 128. Isn't that about half of what they should be? Has anybody used the Microtec MAF's from Advance Auto? Or is a LT1 MAF a direct bolt-on?

The only thing going through the turbo's compressor is air, no fuel. The turbo's compressor can't indicate rich or lean, no fuel going through it.

As for the 128 you were looking at on the SM2, are you absolutely sure you were looking at maf? Sounds like you might have been looking at blm. I think, if memory serves, to look at maf readings you need to look at 'af' and to read blm you need to look at 'bl'.

Microtec MAF = JUNK. Looks like an hour glass shape housing right? I tried one from advanced auto and had the same problem. MAF's were 229 @ WOT. Take it back and get a refund.. HTH

I had the same problem exactly.

My MAF #'s would not go over 180 or so at WOT, causing the ECM to "think" it doesnt need that much fuel, as it wasn't "Seeing" that much air going in.

The ECM's max value for the MAF is 255, and a strong stock GN can get it close to that.

I found an AC Delco reman unit for $90 at Pep Boys, swapped it in the parking lot, saw values of 245-250 or so, car runs good enough I got pulled over on the way home!

HTH
