I'm not really sure if that's my problem, so I'll explain what's going on & hopefully you guys can help me out...

First, my blm's are high at 142(I believe I do have a slight header leak) & my idle o2's are 390-406(not moving out of that range) I'm using a turbotweak chip & his site says that idle should be 750-800..

I've tried adjusting my fuel pressure....no change in blms
I've tried adjusting my idle fuel in the trans plus...no change in the blms

When I first start the car in the morning, the idle is up than down & trying to pop a little...After it runs a few minutes the idle smooths out...

When driving, the blms settle closer to 128 & the o2s cycle through normally. If I do a wot run, the o2s are under 700 at wot...I just installed a brand new GM AFS-22 O2 sensor yesterday, because I thought that was the problem, so now I don't figure that's the problem at all..

So now I'm wondering...Would a bad maf cause all these symptoms??? Is there a way to test the maf? .......Or could it be a bad fuel regulator? Something else???

Please help if you can, before this car is drives me crazy...

isnt the 750-800 o2's just a WOT reading? mine idles from 550-600 on a turbo tweak chip , but gets in the range of 750-800 on WOT with no knock.

His website says..."The chip has open loop idle and the O2’s will typically settle around 750-850 at idle"

I'm talking with Eric now via e-mail, so hopefully he can help me out if it's a chip issue....but I'm thinking it something else causing these out of line #'s...

Why dont you fix the header leak and verify no other vacuum leaks exist. High blm usually indicates unmetered air entering the engine

Heres another strange fact.... Right before I put the new ac delco afs-22 o2 sensor in today, my blm's were stuck at 120 for the last month & nothing I did would raise them!!! That's right, EXACTLY the opposite of what going on now!! Maybe that info can help you to help me....

do you know if eric's older version chips were open looped as well? i thought i had my 02's figured out earlier today, but i had to come across this thread! hahaha

back to the drawing boards...

I don't know if his older chips were open loop or not......but he did tell me that if the translator I have is older than a 5.5 version, it can possibly cause problems... Guess I'll have to check it out tomorrow....

it sounds as if you have a scanmaster, if so you can keep an eye on AF and watch to see if the airflow increases as it should when driving.

Here's some for info....With the old o2, my WOT O2 #'s were showing as low as 40 & not going much over 300 or so...The idle in the mornings was still the same as with the new one, very uneven & wanting to pop...

. what are your AF readings on scanmaster? When my LS1 went bad my AF readings would not rise above 23. So anything past that which is very little throttle, barely above idle. The car ran like you describe. Like crap.

bison is right, check for any unwanted air, my car was uneven at idle and popping when cold and after searching i found out that the idiot who i bought the car from crushed the maf sensor lip with the clamp so it sent air through that opening:eek:. instead of buying a new maf sensor for a couple hundred bucks he tried to super glue the damaged lip and what happened was the glue ended up chipping from time to time and sending it through my turbo and now i have to replace my turbo:mad:. i should go to his house and let my right hand say hello to his jaw bone.

Could unmetered air cause my blms of being both low at 120(with old o2) & high at 142(w/ new o2)? I thought unmetered air could only cause a high blm condition???
