Alright we just started venturing into the PCVless realm with our car. We had been having trouble with the car dying when coming off the throttle so we got rid of the problem by puting up the idle alittle bit. We put it up and its at the right spot. But that seemed to cause a lot of problems with the car itself. The shift point between 1st and 2nd gear is not at red line (5200) and only at red line. Could this be caused by a bad PCV like my father said could be or is there something wrong with the trans. We just had the trans upgraded about a month ago and everything seemed to be running fine until we put up the idle. I got in a situation where i had to get on her a bit and found nothing but incredible detonation. It seemed as either it was caused by the trans not upshifting or could it be just a bad PCV.

Just to clear things up more that i forgot to mention. The PCVless setup we are running is that we have the PCV just sitting in its regular place, not hooked up to the hose leading to the vacuum manifold. The hose leading out of the vacuum manifold is clogged. Hope this helps.

Now I'm not a professional tranny guy, but I would say that you need to readjust your TV cable. How did you adjust your idle??? the screw on the Throttle body? This actually shouldn't adjust the idle unless you go so far as to make the IAC valve shut completely or it was adjusted so it was wide open before and you adjusted it so it can work again. But your father is thinking of a tranny like the TH350 or 400 which uses engine vacuum to determine shift points. The 200-4R actually uses a cable (TV cable) to determine throttle position (which you kind of changed when adjusting the screw). Just follow the instructions on www.gnttype.org to readjust the TV cable and it will probably work again. And if you did adjust the idle by using the screw, then you'll also have to readjust your idle TPS setting and IAC. Hopefully you have a scan tool.

P.S. I'm tired and at work at 1030pm so if I missed something and way off, SORRY. ;)
