Hey guys,
maybe somebody can help... I bought a really beat up 87 GN last october and finally got it in paint. I've been hunting the "you pull it" junk yards and found a nice grey headliner ,trim panels and optional domelight with the two small reading lights next to it.
The question i have is .. the original standard dome light has two wires... one orange and one white. Each wire goes to each side of the bulb. The new dome has only one orange wire and no white wire. is the white wire a ground? Do I even use it? I thought maybe because the new dome is metal instead of plastic that the white wire isnt used as the new dome light is grounded to the roof. Anybody familiar with these?
thanks ! Steve

sounds like white is the ground and you will need a ground for the one you picked up - quick test with a meter will let ya know what's going on.

Your new C95 dome/map light should have an orange and a white wire. The unit is grounded to the body. Your original round dome should also have a white and orange wire. Just splice the two sections together.
