Okay what's the technical explanation for the install instructions I've seen around saying to install them (capacitor(s)) in the positive speaker lead?

Should it matter?

Yes they are installed on the positive connection point. They are capacitors used to filter out certain frequencies. You have to make sure you use the correct one for the correct range for whatever speakers or tweeters you are using. It's kinda old school though. You can get an active or passive crossover for really really cheap but they do work if that is the route you want to go.

I know what they are, I was just looking for the reasoning behind the Plus side install, I'm not sure it matters.

Non-polarized capacitors too.

Yeah that's what I thought, 'cause I put one on the negative lead of the amp. at the speaker, of course....
