I have a 3200 vigillante converter. I am wondering if this turbo would spool good with this converter. Also, what kind of times will it support. I know where I can get a good deal on one. It uses the t4 flange, and external wastegate, but I can do the fabrication to make it work. I just need to know if it will be worth it.

If not, what turbo would you guys suggest. I was looking at the GT67, but dont know how well it would do for sure with the 3200. I believe I could probably have it restalled, but dont know how much it would cost to have it done since I am not the origional purchacer of this stall.

My goal for the car is to eventually break 10's. Mid 10's would be nice, but I would be happy if I could make 11's. I dont necisarrily plan to do this right away, but would like to head in that direction instead of having to buy parts twice.

Thanks

Ben

I think 3200 is more than enough.

My buddy Scott had a 3000 stall and CPT66 on his car.

Thanks, but I still dont know what this turbo will support. Turbonetics site doesnt give much of a description.

Also, what turbo do you guys think would be ideal? If I am buying new, it would be a non ball bearing turbo.

Call Jack Cotton for the info. on the BB62 and power support levels.

Probably need to know what exact housings are on it and all, for anyone to make a good estimation.

I dont really have a lot of time to call someone. I work full time during the day, and am at school from 5:30 to 11:30 pm. That is why I asked on here.

I will try to get the housing numbers. I asked him about the exhaust and he said he didnt know off the top of his head. I know that it uses a T4 flange, so I will have to adapt that to work if I use it, as well as the downpipe. That is why I was asking, because I want to know if it is worth the trouble of doing the work to make it fit rather than using one that will bolt in.

What exactly does the 62-1 specify. Is it just a type of turbo?

Thanks

Ben

i had a 62-1 --car ran very low tens @130--art carr 9 in - non-lockup 16930 convertor

Do you know what the specs on yours such as housing sizes were? What speed was that stall?

Since you had one, could you tell me what the 62-1 actually means? Is it just a type, or does it relate to the size of something?

I talked to the guy today. He said that the exhaust housing is the .83 housing. What else do I need to know. Like I said, I dont know what exactly 62-1 indicates, so I dont know what all the options for a 62-1 are. Is 62 the size of the compressor wheel?

Thanks again
Ben

62 mm is the size of the compressor wheel (i think, someone verify) and the -1 means its a three bolt turbo. i have a 60-1 bb with a .82 a/r exhaust housing with a 3200 vigilante l\u and man, it spools scary fast.

I dont think that the -1 means that it is a 3 bolt, but I would bet you are right on the 62 part. I know that you can get the -1, or the -2 in a 4 bolt, but the -2 says it flows 10% more air.

Do you know what kind of power that turbo is supposed to be capable of? The one I am looking at is a 61-2. It has a 4 bolt flange, but I could buy the 3 bolt housing, or modify the stock header for the 4 bolt flange.

Ben

I got my numbers all mixed up. Anyway, the 62-1, I think can come with a 3 bolt or 4 bolt still. I dont know that there is any such thing as a -2 like I mentioned. Just a slight laps of sanity I guess. It was the 62-1 that flows 10% more than the 60-1.
