I saw a post one time, and a guy said something about a ball bearing turbo "spooling like a stocker". I hope to upgrade the turbo sometime in the near future - but yup I've got the stock converter. Is it possible to run a good bb turbo with a stock converter? Or is it totally a must to change converters when you go to a bigger turbo?

Ball Bearing turbos spool a bit quicker and easier than a journal bearing turbo, thus allowing you to use a larger BB turbo vs whatever size journal bearing turbo.

I would recommed a ball bearing TE-44 if you want to keep the stock converter. THis turbo is good for the 11's on a good setup, and 12's all day long. :)
