I think the WXRSTIPDQWXYZ is pretty bad looking, but the same way I've been told the Caddy CTSV is bad looking. Its in the eye of the beholder. I just think that hood scoop and spoiler are factory rice and make an already bad looking car look worse. No one was saying Subies looked good before the WRX and there isn't any styling difference from before it. Same with the Evo. Good performer, but very outdated look. IMHO of course.

Welp..time to chime in. The wing on the STI is supposed to be functional, who knows. The scoop is for sure!, it feeds cold air the the IC, which sits on top of the motor.

Rice? - I guess
Fast? - pretty damn close to a stock GN
Fun? - For Sure!!!!!!!

Hmmm, didn't know about too many stock GN's running 13.2 on pump gas off the showroom floor...........

most "stock" GN's about 1 sec slower.........

Sorry, My bad. The standard WRX runs 14.2 - 14.4, which is close to a stock GN < except for car and drivers's 13.9>

I started this thread thinking that a car that historically has been considered a DOG now has a very hot offering. Thought this was interesting, that's all. Little did I know that it would get some people's blood running in high gear! Now, I kinda like stirring the pot a bit and watching the flames and smoke!

So, I've found that the 2004 WRX STi does the 1/4 in 13.3 and 0 to 60 in 4.9. As far as I know this is better than a stock GN (I have an 87 GN) and it doesn't bother me at all that a $35K+ Subaru can whip me.

The performance is there. I had an STI keep up with my vette from a 60mph roll on the highway. Don't know if he was modded at all, but i couldn't pass him. The point is that the imprezza was a boring looking (nice way to put it) car before the wrx and in alot of peoples opinion it still is. Same goes for the EVO. The small box is good for what it was built for...rally racing. If you put a 32o hp motor in a Kia it won't make the car look any better.
