Hey all,

After swapping the BRF VB/Gov/Speedo into the CR tranny, I left the CR separator plate inside, which Chris told me was fine. But I also left all the ball bearings on the separator plate, and I put the ball bearings from the CR VB into the BRF VB in the same location that they were in on the CR VB. Would this cause any problems? Are the bearings located differently on the BRF VB and BRF Separator plate? Thank you in advance!

Thanks Chris! :) Also, if there were a lot of metal shavings inside of the old BRF donor tranny, would that have damaged the VB? Lots of tranny oil coked up too, so I hope its just that clogging the valves.. Do I need to pull apart the VB to clean it?

Definately could and I would clean it out!

Thanks HOTTOGO, How do I tell if it's just clogged or if its actually damaged? I need to send it to a tranny shop or can I tell myself?

make sure valves snap back against spring pressure when exerting and releasing force on them .the valve body should always be entirely dissassembled upon overhaul if metal is present .

So if metal is present I need to rebuild the valve body? Or are you talking about rebuilding the whole tranny in general?

if the metal was just in the vb you swapped then just go thru it, if the trannie has metal then it depends on how much, wereit came from and how the trannie was performing.
