no just thinking how sweet it would be flying really fast and shooting **** for a living. of course its nothing compared

Try talking to Dan Boden (Tyler Durden). I know he's familiar with all the requirements to become a Navy pilot.

When I first met him, he was living here in Maryland and going to the Naval Academy. I'm a big fan of aviation so I would always ask about his progress in flight schools.

Right now, he's in transit, on his way to Italy. (Read the thread: Being Deployed). So he may not be immediately available, but I'm sure he'll have internet soon and you can drop him a line.

I used to be a pilot in the bakery. I'd take bread out of one corner and "pilot" in another.

I quit that job. I got sick of the dough and decided to go on the loaf.

Talk to TylerDurdan, Dan Boden on here. He flies rubber dog$hit out of Korea....I mean....an Orion P3 I believe. I tested successfully for it but have poor eyesight...squashed THAT dream. :)

I dont' know what the time requirements are now days, but a friend of mine 20 years ago went straight from college to Navy flight school. They had him make a 10 year committment. Not bad considering he came out single and multi engine jet trained. He went straight to the airlines and had great job waiting. You might also talk to Paul at SE Turbo in Atlanta. He is a commercial pilot along whit being an avid GN builder. Mark

Talk to John (WHT87T) on here he is in school to become a pilot, he already has a pilots lic and is going to become a commercial airline pilot I believe. Sure he can help ya out.

the "best" way to get into a military cockpit is thru the Naval academy or the AF academy......but, I'm afraid even then, they won't guarantee flight.....and you are already in the AF or Navy...like it or not

ROTC at your favorite college is a possibilty, but then again, you are committed to several years in the military, flying or not

before you sign up, maybe take some flying lessons and see if you have an aptitude for it.....some folks just don't and the military has very rigorous physical & mental requirements....better to find out you can't make a coordinated turn while a civilian than to wash out of flight school and end up flying an LMD (long metal desk)
