Does anyone make a chip for pre 84 t's? i opened up my ecm ( i got an 83) and the chip looks to be removable just like any other, so how come i cant find any upgrades? i

I would imagine there just isnt the demand for aftermarket parts for the first Gen turbo cars.... thats why most of us build our own.

 A.j.

Currently there are no aftermarket chips out there. The programing on them is crude compaired to the SFI cars so no one is willing to make them. When you go WOT the only thing it does is let gas go through the carb and the knock sensor controls timing through the puter and "retard box", such that it is. Turbo Tweek won't even attempt it I'm sorry to say. Good luck.

im trying to get mine spruced up no1 wants to deal wit it.Oh well:(

ive got some chip burning equipment and old software to play with. Once im ready im gong to tinker with it and see if i can get do any mods. I have to finish my swap first though =(

If you get somewhere with it let me know ill be interested. thanks

I don't know if its true but I remember reading the carb turbo doesn't pull timing soon enough or it was too high. It may have been just the retard box style though. Been a while

Cool. If you can get it done and with the turbo mods it would be a killer for sure.

No need for a chip.

The fuel mixture at WOT is not computer controlled. Just play with different rods and hanger like any other Q-jet.

You can move the entire timing curve by changing the intial timing. If you want less timing at WOT, you can get a MSD BTM.

A/F ratio and timing - what else would you need a chip to do?

U could save alot of cash on timing curve with a burned chip, right.

I guess you would if CCC chips existed. CCC uses a different language than EFI and nobody has effectively cracked the code.

Any chips out there don't do much. Check with the Monte SS guys. They have the same CCC ECM's that we have and they don't use chips.

The MSD BTM is flexible. You can change the timing retard on the fly with a knob on dash. Can't do that with a chip. I pull 1/2 a degree per psi on 93 octane and then turn it to zero with race gas.

you got a point with this, if the chips control, is limited, i just thought it might be worth looking into,
