getting the dipstick tube into the trans was major pita - i must have done it wrong. with 5/6 bell-housing bolts in i snaked the tube down the firewall to the seal on the transmission. multiple jack heights to get the angle right so there was firewall clearance for the tube. is it easier to install the dipstick before raising the transmission in place? seems like it would be in the way as the trans is raised up/forward to mate with bell-housing.
