belt slipping

my alt belt is slipping and making my voltage light come on.

i cant get the belt to stop no mater what i do. Is there a better belt for the hot air cars or just the stock ones, are they a problem with these cars .

is the alt pully slipping afrter you tighten it? washers good? perhaps get a friend to pull the **** out of it and then tighten it. do the same for the P/S so it doesnt slip when you drive through a puddle ;p

My car does the same thing. Been doing it for about 9 months now. I have gone through 6 sets of belts, one set of pulleys and about 50 cans of belt dressing.

I have pulled the alt belt so tight that I do not think that it can physically be any tighter. i used a 6' long piece of pipe for leverage.

If anyone has any suggestions please chime in.

i dont know maybe i should check it. I put a new belt on and used a pipe my self , i dont see the volt light on any more but the t link is still reading crazy voltage and a lot of knock in the top end.
