Hey all, just wanted to say that I had a bit of good luck yesterday. I had been getting a lot of false knock from my belt tensioner. I figured that I would have to replace the tensioner or at the very least press in a new bearing. I noticed that my belt was looking decidely ratty, so I replaced it. The new belt fixed all of the tensioner problems. The new belt must have been stiff enough to pull on the tensioner and keep it from bouncing around too much.
I went from 20 degrees of knock on a 3-2 downshift to 0 degrees just by changing the belt.
