I have a powermaster unit that I bought used back in 1992. I was told that it worked by the seller, but the technicians at the Buick dealership told me it didn't work and they wound't install it. What do I need to test and look for to make sure that it is operational unit. I don't have my Grand National available to install it on. Any information would be helpful. Thanks guys.

I can't tell you how to bench test it, but I can guarantee you that it will need a new accumulator ball. Those do not like to sit idle and yours is almost certainly perished. The powermaster as a whole likes exercise and cleanliness, so a lack of either is going to give you trouble.

Well, if you lived in NC you could take it to Richard Clark's place and have it tested. Or send it to him and have him test it for you. He has a complete Powermaster test bench.
