Gentlemen,

Looking for the best sounding exhaust made for the GN's? I would like to have a Flowmaster system but all I can seem to find is the basic system with the single muffler. Want to go with the dual muffler setup. Suggestions warmly welcomed....

Thanks,

Spank

:D

for the money the hooker dual exhaust is a nice system. not to loud a very little drown. i think i paid less than 300.:D

Just an FYI...

The Flowmaster system is simply NOT the way to go. It only has 2 1/4" pipe, the bends suck, and our cars seem to hate chambered-style (i.e. Flowmaster) mufflers.

Other people will definitely chime in here, but I've used the Hooker system on both of my cars, with great success. The included mufflers aren't overly loud, but they flow very, very well. Summit sells this kit for ~$269.00.

If you really want the LOUDEST system...in my opinion, it's the ATR PitBull Single Shot. Granted, it's a single-unit system, but it's light, stainless...and sounds MEAN. (Link on ATR's site.)

Single Shot is very loud but flows probably better than anything else

Thanks guys... I will definately weigh that option.... ATR makes a dual system as well dont they? What is your thoughts on that?

ATR flows oh so well.

I run the ATR 2.5" dual system as does a friend. It sounds great and neither of us has seen any difference at the track between running through the exhaust vs. dump open (both are mid to high 11 second cars).

It really does flow that well.

If I were doing it over I would purchase another ATR system without hesitation. Note that I haven't ever run anything else so can't make a comparison on bang for the buck...

I agree with the Flowmasters(slowmasters) not being a good choice.
My 87 has the ATR crossflow system and it is awesome.
All stainless even the muffler.

Now that's high dollar...Expensive, but probably the best in the business.

Do the ATR SS Pitbull dual system and be done with it. Excellent quality and perfect fit, at least on my car. Personally, if I could do it over again, i would have done the three inch, but I did the 2.5 the first time around.

Don't do the single shot unless you want your car to sound like a UPS truck.

Plus, you'll destroy the look of your car if you do a single shot - stick with the side exhuasts. Polish the tips before you install and you're golden.

Just my humble opinion.

Save $100 bucks and go with the 2.5", just as good but too quite for me

ATR hands down is the best exhaust systems for these cars. Best quaility and fit and is stainless. My favorite;)

Definitely encourage all the Mustang guys to keep worshiping their beloved FlowMidgets, because they have

**3 times the backpressure and half the flow**

as compared to the UltraFlows.

HTH :)

I run the 3" single shot from Cotton's. It's pretty quiet, but that was what I was looking for. I'd rather hear the big turbo than the engine. I got it for $279 and it would bolt right up to the cat.

Atr 3" ss single shot

It is pretty loud but flows great and i don't mind a little noise:) I like this exhaust because i know some V-8 guy is going to say he has nothing because he only has single exhaust:D .......hth

ATR single shot is without a doubt the best sounding. 20# lighter than duals and enough flow for low 10s.
