Best Hood Shocks?

I purchased a pair of hood shocks for my car last spring and they're shot already. What brand of hood shocks can I buy that will last more than a year.

I did the same last year and bought factory GM ones much better but get ready to fork out $100 clams

I got mine from Advance Auto, and they lasted nearly 10 years..... just replaced 'em again a few weeks ago.... for free.... lifetime warranty... :smile:

I have picked up 2 sets, one for each car, a few years ago and they are still fine. They were just generic ones from an autoparts store and I haven't had any problems lately.

Maybe you just got a defective pair??

Paul, I did the same thing last year...guess I'll roll the dice with a different parts store here in town. Maybe I'm just opening and closing my hood too much. :biggrin:

I tried two different brands myself but found them be too strong , went to GM and they are perfect. Also it says the best hood shocks you can buy a cheap pair or get the best , and I feel they are the GM ones are but that's just me.:smile:
