best mods??

planning on spending $2000-$3000 this winter what are the best mods for a stock car.

Please don't just throw money at it.
Get the basics done (fuel system, cheap mods, etc)and get a scantool. After you are sure all is good, then you can start modding, and you will learn all about it on the way there. I think I learn something new each time I play with the tune/boost, including weather changes, etc. I'm just scratching the surface, I think.

Well, I'm a newbee modder myself, but my research (and I hope others will chime in and verify/correct me) concluded that the best starting mods, in no particular order are:

Scan Tool
upgraded Fuel Pump / Hotwire
Passenger Side Breather Bypass
K & N filter / Cold Air Kit
160 Thermostat
Adjustable Wastegate
Adjustable fuel Pressure Regulator
Aftermarket Boost Gauge
RJC Power Plate
Spring Cleaning

I would do the fuel system first.Then a scanmaster at the least.Then a chip.Then a good cold air intake.Then exhaust.And when I say fuel system I mean fuel pump,hotwire kit,adj.fuel pressure regulator and definitely a fp guage that you can see while driving.Those are very important peices.Oh and a good boost guage.

Yup - and don't forget the front frame braces from an Olds or Chevy G-body. One of the best & cheapest mods going.

Go slowly and learn your car. You'll be a lot happier with the results.

hey swt86 these framebraces that you are talking about are these that go from the inner fender to the radiator support..
is this correct...just about 1 1/2' - 2' long....

SMC alky kit!!! Best bang for you buck mod bar none. Just make sure you take care of all the basics first!
