Greetings,
I am a new GNX owner. I am researching and learning as much as I can about these amazing cars!! My car has a Turbonetics 60mm TRB-11352 BB turbo along with 63 lb. Siemens High-Z Fuel injectors. Been installed since 2013. Car also has the methanol injection kit. The car runs great hitting about 22 lbs. of boost. If I decide to upgrade the Turbo, what would everyone recommend?? The HPT turbos? Something else? Thanks!!

The answer is...

it depends.

You'll need to give a lot more info. Stock cam? Stock converter? Still have the 3.42s in the back? ECU Still the stocker?

I wish I knew all of that. Transmission is built with a shift kit (shifts really hard like a race car), New rear end with 343 gears, Full custom magnaflow exhaust. Alkycontrol, Champion cooling radiator, upgraded valve covers.

That's a GNX? Not just a GN? (like "just" a GN is somehow bad.... LOL)

I wouldn’t think someone would do that level of modding(valve covers, spark plug wires, etc) to an actual GNX.

That being said, even keeping a GN fairly stock nowadays is a great idea figuring most of us have modded the 💩 out of ours. Stockers(or easily reverted back to stock) are getting rarer by the day.

Here is a better picture. I have two turbo heat shields. The turbo is bigger. Some slight modification to the original heat shield (which has been chrome plated) had to be made to get it to fit with bigger turbo, and upgraded headers and exhaust. It has GNX S/N 215 on the dash. If it's not a GNX, someone went to great detail to make all the GNX upgrades. 1st picture had bigger heat shield.

Well, gotdam! Congratulations, you have a very rare vehicle. I would be looking to going back toward original, but, it's your car, and you get to do whatever you want with it.

Show us a shot of the rear differential and suspension.

Hmmmmm,

I'm looking closer at the underhood pics.

Some things aren't right.

VP sticker on Alky Tank pre-cover change
Rust on bolts that wasn't in the "X" Pic
You say 343's instead of 342's.

Hmmmmm..... I'm calling Malarkey!

I hope I'm wrong...

Don’t take my word for gospel. But you could perhaps have a clone. I just cannot see someone changing so much on such a rare car. Dash plaques can be changed.

Original radiator is gone, no more stock air intake, heat shield was never chrome, amongst other changes.

Not knocking your ride just hope ya didn’t think you were getting a GNX & got a GN.

Don’t think ya could get a GNX with T-Tops either.

It's the same engine bay. I've done alot of clean up in the last couple of months as far as rust. I put the stick on the tank because I'm using VP racing fuels M1 methanol. The guy I bought it from said 343 gears in the rear. Like I said, I'm still learning about the car.

Ya can’t get a GNX with T-Tops. Afraid ya got a GN.

Lot's of conflicting elements. Never heard of a T Top GNX, ever. It could be, but I don't think so.

I sure hope this guy didn't get tricked. That would suck for everyone in the TR community, and prolly start some rumors. SMH

Feels right. Too much isn’t adding up. Not knocking it if it’s a GN, feels like OP might’ve gotten bamboozled.
The guy I bought it from won the car in an online raffle. He didn't know anything about it. He didn't say it was a GNX or not. He didn't know. I guess it could be a clone. I didn't buy it thinking it was definitely a GNX. I didn't know. I got it for a steal either way!! Original motor, but has been completely rebuilt. All the numbers match between VIN's and build plate. Original paint. I have just put ceramic coating on it. Interior is basically brand new. On carfax, the frame has 90K miles, but the motor has 5K since rebuild. Making 22 lbs. of boost. Runs and looks amazing!! The guy that built it really knew what he was doing. Thanks guys!!

So why use the first pic you used? I would assume that would be a "today as she sits" photo. Then post a pic of a spotless GNX underhood?

You bought a GNX that looked like that first pic under the hood? I'm just trying to grasp what you're saying here.

Yes, I'm suspicious, and you don't owe me a thing, but this will be seen by many, and more questions will come.

I'm jus' sayin'.
