Drop my tank and filter to replace my fuel pump the gas that came out the outlet side of my filter look like muddy water now I'm afraid that this muddy looking gas may have clogged my injector. When the gas that came out the filter dripped onto and old blanket I was laying on it left a sandy type residue behind. My question is how do I clean my injectors and fuel lines . Air,injector cleaner ?need a little help here

Drop the tank. It may be rusty and causing problems. Seen it before. If it's all rusty the pump will need to be replaced

Planned on changing pump I'm only getting 20lbs of pressure at gauge do u think my injectors ar plugged also

Drop the tank and look there first. Then pull the injectors and look in the baskets. If they had crap in them I'd have them cleaned or replaced

When u say have them cleaned is ther somewere I should go or would a piece oe wire and a air nozzle do it

Take your fuel filter off, cut it open and see if it's compromised. If it's opened up, then it's untelling what is stuck in the injector filters.
I like to stick a couple of rare earth magnets on the outside of it too (and the tank, and oil filter and drain plug). It will grab and hold small chunks of rust and other ferrous crud before it gets to the the filter medium.

This pic is with very few miles on my car. My car sat for 6 years while I put it back together after it was stolen. That spot is what the small magnet caught on the tank side of the filter.

DO NOT drive the car until this is fixed. Sounds like it's time for a pump change too.

The injectors have to be professionaly cleaned. Old buzzard, Chuck, here on the board does injector cleaning. Might want to hurry too before senility fully sets in :D

I "resemble" that remark!:D:p
The filter baskets are probably contaminated w/ the same crud that's in the filter. As Bison said, likely rust...
If the tank is toast, then you must look at the insides of the fuel lines, rails, too.

That's the cool thing about having old timers disease, Chuck. I'm going to try and send my next set of injectors to you when you think it's sometime in the 70's. LOL

Around here. it's always some time in the 70's.....................Well, I think it is.:p

Chuck will know it is not 1970's when he can't find Hogan's Heros and Get Smart on tv.

Hey riviera, now's the time to send those injectors to Chuck. Since he think it's the 1970's he's as sharp as he was when he was 6o something!
