I have checked the screw.and it is still there and so is the little tab on the bottom of it. since this has happened I have replaced the ignition module, coil pack, crank sensor, cam sensor, plugs, plug wires, checked for compression, and cheched for spark, checked the injectors.

A little background on "when" this problem started would be in order.

Did it just start having this problem on its own? Or could it be the result of some work being done?

BTW, what chip are you running?

yes I was just crusing around and it started missing and just got worse (within a minute or so) died and wouldn't start again.
the next day it started fine the after a while it started missing again and has done it ever since. I have a jay carter and a red armstrong chip.
Thanks

Hmmmm, I've heard of crank trigger issues causing symptoms similar to these.

Double check that it isn't rubbing the trigger rings, that the connection is good, wires OK, etc.

Have you checked all your ground wires? Look behind your passenger side head........just a quess

I'll check the crank trigger again I have already replaced it and checked the clearance. and I'll also go through all of my grounds.
I am willing to try anything this thing has been haunting me for 2 months now:mad:
Thanks for everyones help
keep the ideas coming

the injectors are firing but they might be dumping too much fuel
because all of the plugs are fuel soaked, and I am getting spark

If you have an adj FPR, then it may have a vacuum leak, or just way over adjusted. Check all small lines leading around and up to the FP. I would also look into you wires being in the correct order again...You may get enought spark, just in the wrong place...Dum, things like that are usually a pain- Just check your vacuum lines and your spark plug wire order. Let us know!

John

I have just checked the vacuum lines and the plug wires and nothing.
This car is getting the best of me.
I'll try all ideas.
Thanks

Did you check the Mafs? What type do you have stock, ls1 or the impala? do the tap check if it is stock, not sure how to check the other ones

well...I am tapped for ideas. The only thing I can think of that your injectors would dump on you is because either a vaccum leak, computer may be out of wack, or even the injectors themselves could be faulty. Also, your harness, not the injector harness, but the regular engine harness...Look for any burns, melting, or exposed wire. This will take a lot of time in a heated garage if ya got it, but track every lead, every ground, every connection and clip. There could be a lousy electric gremlin messin everything up for you. Good luck!

John

i know you checked the cam sensor but a bad one will cause the injectors to dump fuel. but it will run great at WOT if the plugs are clean.

I have a stock maf all I have done is unplugged it everyone told me that it couldn't cause this kind of problem

Have you done the tap test on the Mafs? I had one go bad and it keep shutting my car off and also hesitated real bad and then the next day it started up no problem and i drove it around did fine but then it shut off at Kfc so i just left it there, bout a hour later i return started it up and drove it home.... It showed no codes i replaced it with a Ls1 no problems
