the search function isnt working for some reason so. . . . .

i am curious as to what is the biggest turbo for our cars with the stock heads and cam?

i currently have a precision te44 on my car but that turbo is going to be put on my fathers TTA so what would be a good step up? assuming that i have all the supposrting mods, 65lb injectors, tq converter stall, etc. . .

A bunch of people will say anywhere from a 63 to a 70mm turbo. I ran the times in my sig with a 70BB all on stock heads, cam, intake, bottom end. With 25 psi and no nitrous i ran 11.40's @ 118 mph. This is at 4,500 ft DA. SURE.....people have gone just as fast on smaller turbos. BUT.....the point is, i am now adding GN1s, roller cam, bottom end, ect. and i dont have to buy another turbo. The 70 will take me all the way to low 10's if i push it. Just my .02

Are you interested in also having nice street manners?.
I'm running a TA-62, with a 206/206 cam, just some minor cleaning of the chambers, with 60 PPH injectors, and a Cotton F/M. It's taken some time to get right, but it runs like a stocker until you hit the gas. Previously, I had a 61 on it, and it was just as smooth but without all the work.

If you're *race only*, there's a rather current thread about using a 45/45a with stock heads.

the car is driven on the street regularly.

Set up in my sig. Car will absolutly fly but almost as impressive as it's power is it's street manners. Almost the perfect set up, IMHO :)

what is your converter stall rating?

PT54  Great street manners with at least a 2800 stall. Check my sig for times. This was pushing everything to the max.

Kevin just get a 70 gtq and be done with it...........

I have the 9½" Precision Vigilante Multidisc lock upwith the 6 pump, it's advertised stall is 3600-3800. I love it! Although I haven't locked it at the track yet :frown: but hoping to next Friday :)

i think i have decided on the PT61. i have about 3100-3200 stall so it seems like thats the biggest i should go. i would like to go bigger but i dont plan on doing heads or higher stall for a few years at least.

You know, if i would have bought the correct turbo the first time, i would have saved alot of $. The 70 gtq is a proven turbo, if you read around, and you probably arleady have too much stall for it! that is my suggestion.

This is , directed to both of you:)Stall is dependant upon HP that converter in my car gave me 6000 stall@25 psi boost and no rpm drop on the shift. The stall is rated probably at 0 psi boost. How are you measuring your stall?
