I have a stock converted restalled to 3000. I have ported heads, intake, plenum, 3inch dp. Currently running a te44 with 42.5 injectors. Given my converter what is the biggest Journal Bearing Turbo and could and get an decent acceptable spool-up/response? I know I would need bigger injectors with the bigger turbo.

Thanks,
Charles

The one you have

Yeah. The 44 with a re-stalled 12" is decent. More turbo than that and it will be lazy

If I remember correctly, 2200 is the most you can go with the stocker. So 44/49 would be just right. Some might say advise you to get rid of the D5 before you wipe out a thrust bearing. A better, more efficient, lighter converter would be a better option than a turbo.

I hope that I don't wipe out a thrust bearing, I paid about $150 for the restalled converter. But if I do get a bigger turbo and injectors, I'll have the converter as part of the combo to upgrade. But I guess if I see a decent one for sale, better converter, I might just pick it up.
