what kinda stall would match this turbo up from precision? ive got a ultra tight 2800 10.5 inch. or should i go with the 6262?

Stall

Don't quote me but I think a 3K Stall would do just fine for the 6265 DBB. The 2800 10.5 should do the trick if you use the 6262. I had the 6262JB w/10' PTC 2800 and it spooled up very quick. I now have the 6265 DBB but I have not ordered my new PTC converter yet. I think Dusty will spec something around the 3000~3200. I think it's really depends on the combo as well. I hear more cubes = faster spool ect,ect... which will allow you to run a tighter converter. Give Dusty from PTC a shout and I'm sure he will tell you if you can get away with what you have or need to upgrade. GL

If your current converter will stall 2800 at 0-1# of boost, it should work with the 6265.

I would try it to see and then decide how you like it. You can go looser if you have enough cam to turn the rpm up to 5600-5800. A looser converter with a low shift point will just slip.

from what i can tell its got .030 forged pistons, a 218 cam, 57 lbs injectors, and a valve job with no port work

...but i do have a ported set of big valve iron heads and a matching intake on the shelf, so ill prolly just go with the 6265

It would spool considerably better with something that will go to over 3000 @ zero boost/vacuum. That cam is not helping anything here. Id go with the 6262 and a smaller cam or get a good set of heads on there and turn it up.
