Blocking the 1-2 accumulator

Is it safe to block off the feed hole in the 1-2 accumlator housing in a 200-4r without doing any other modifications. My buddy want a very firm 1-2 shift but is short on cash. Will it harm the transmision any more than a shift kit?

I don't think it is any problem as long as you leave the cushion spring on the 2nd servo. If you were to disable both, you would be asking for a broken band lug and/or pin.

It will firm it up some but if the servo is too small, it will still not be real positive.
It is worth a try anyway. Not alot to lose.

Agreed. I wouldnt disable it unless the engine is making a lot of torque. Like under 11.50 et's. The larger servo is a better option.
