Blown turbo Gasket

Just got my car back up & running, took it for a ride around the block .. ended up blowing my gasket that goes from the turbo to header completely out.. " Forgot to torque it down all the way "

Question being , with this gasket missing would it act as a vacuum leak because my car will not idle correctly and when I step on the gas it backfires.

Absolutely.. That leak is right on top of the O2 sensor..Why a gasket there??

I've always ran a gaske there, I didnt know I didnt't have to..

Personal preference...

I just filed the flanges flat, put a LIGHT coat of hi temp sealer on it, and put it on.
BE SURE
if you use a sealer, that it's sensor safe....
