Now that's what I like to see!! People steping outside the box and attempting different things! Way to go Ray! ;)

You know, People often wonder why our cars "Buick's" really never got on the map as far as publicity goes and this is why, people in the past mainly only used them for dragracing so everyone got acustomed to knowing these cars as "Straight line" cars and were left to the wayside so to speak. Yes this is also a straight line but the salt is a TOTAL different animal to drive on at those speeds than blacktop/concrete!

I'll be willing to bet that the front end was starting to float around at that speed being how high it is up front!

Doing things like this will get the Buick TR's and other G-Body cars more noticed by people and by Magazines and that is a Good thing! Anybody can make one of these go down a dragstrip good but the real challenge is to make them Handle at other events...

I would love to see a video of it and have Ray tell the details on how the car acted while going down the runway...

I've always wanted to do that or at least attend an event. Thanks for sharing and big props! :)

time to start cleaning up the aero on that car..
lower it a bit, block off as much of the grille as he can get away with, make up an air dam and some side skirts that go right down close to the salt...

roll bar

Did you have to add any safety equipment to car--looks stock? If not @ what speed is roll bar and such required? My friend and I towed his 88 Cutlass out there (1750 miles each way). His first trip he ran 150 or so and he had it welded up like a Nascar cage. Said it was required. I took my wife there couple years later. Something everyone should see @ least once.

This is a low milage stocker with the following mods:eek:.Dutt neck, hotwired 340 with adj fp,RJC valve and plate, new valve springs,K&N under the hood, new Wires plugs and all fluids changed,TT chip, scanmaster,HR motor mount, exh cut out and a simple tune.:wink:Their was an 09 Vette that could only go 126 with a factory tech and a lap top.:rolleyes:The car was very popular with spectators and fellow racers:biggrin:.You neeed a cage for !50 and we will never cut up this car or lower it.These cars just continue to impress me.The hole idea was to keep it as close to stock and get into the 130mph club and we did it:biggrin:I have many more pics and the scenery was just amazing.
