Was looking over my vac lines today and i want to see if this connection is right. On my car they hooked up the line going to the boost gague inside that car, to the hard line from the vac block...that goes to the emissions canister. Seems odd this is done this way. Is this common? I know it isn't the way the write ups i found on gnttype site.....but will this also work from this connection reliably? The gauge works now, as i think it should be anyway....when connected here...

If this is wrong and i need to redo....then do i jsut cap off this hard line connection then...since i don't have emisions?

thanks!

I don't see any problem with that. If you still have the vapor canister, then I suggest you consider replacing the check valve that is just before the canister to ensure there is no leak of pressure that may contribute to a false boost reading.

I have no emissions on my car. Canister is removed. Basically right at the end of the hardline pipe under the TB..that would be for the canister hookup....they connected the boost line here. No check valves or anything. I get vac then boost readings as you woudl think i should, but i jsut don't know if this is the place to be tapping into for the gauge. Could this cause bad boost readings is what i am starting to wonder now???

That should be fine. I have read that some guys tap the line to the FPR because they want to get the same pressure the FPR gets.

In fact, I would think the use of an isolated source like you have is better than tapping elsewhere.

Sounds good to me then! I jsut wanted to see everyone opinion on it.....since it was different then most hookups i have seen. I seems like it is dead on and all.. Just wondering if a source like this could cause different readings is all.
