boost gauge question

I Had A Boost Gauge Installed And Heard The Tech Say There Was A Small Crimp In The Line. They Tested Gauge With Air Hose Before Install And It Seemed To Be Ok.the Gauge Does Not Show Boost Below 5 Pounds . All Of A Sudden Boost Just Starts To Show 5 Lbs Then Goes Up To 13 Lbs At Wot. Original Gauge In Dash Starts To Show Boost Right Away. Scanmaster Is Showing Knock At 2nd And 3rd Upshift With Only 13 Lbs Boost According To New Gauge. Is It Normal For The New Gauge Not To Show Boost Below 5 Lbs. I Am Wondering If Gauge Is Showing Less Than Actual Boost As 13lbs Boost Seems Low For Knock. Any Opinions Would Be Appreciated. I Have Stock Fuel Pump & Wires . Just Got The Racetronics Kit But Not Yet Installed. Thanks Steve.

Ok, a couple degrees KR through shifting is fine. From my understanding you just hit the recall button while flooring it (after the KR from the shifts) and if should clear up. Boost gauge should read any and all boost. Even 1 psi should register. Sounds like the kink might be bad enough that the air isn't getting through till the boost gets high enough and forces it through. Where is the gauge tapped into? Also, what are some of the other readings on the scanmaster? Like BLM, o2, etc. Fuel pressure?

Your gauge should read boost below 5 for sure. If I were you I would go buy some new tubing ( less than $10 for 6 feet if I remember correctly ) and just run the the new stuff
