Jul 16, 2008 #2 I imjoesnuffy I just break stuff! Joined Sep 13, 2005 Messages 1,541 Vacuum It's called vacuum. :smile: It varies from car to car, many things can affect it like camshaft duration and vacuum leaks. Anywhere from -10 to -28 psi. Obviously more is better for vacuum brake setups.

Thanks TJ Click to expand... Are you sure you're not seeing 12" (InHg) of vacuum? I doubt you're seeing -12# since that would equate to about 24" (InHg) of vacuum. Most cars will idle between 12-16" (InHg) of vacuum. So I believe you're reading the vacuum side of the gauge and misinterpreting it as - boost.
