Just wondering if the folks using this option see the same thing I do with the boost pressure difference. While driving around and just getting on the gas I see the boost gage begin to read positive press but the TL readout is still showing vaccum (yes this is after calibration). Is this because of the update of TL or where the two different readings are taken from? This has got me puzzled.
I am going to hook up an air source to both tie in points to check but still wanted to know from the rest of the users.

How much difference are you seeing? If you are talking 1-2 psi, I've seen the mechanical gauges be off by that much on a calibration bench.

I actually took an Autometer gauge apart and took the needle off and rezeroed it (it was always 1 psi off). I've had another VDO gauge that was 2 psi off.

I can double check the software, but the last time we checked it against a known calibrated boost gauge, it was within 0.25 psi.

Another thing ... are you using v3? If so, upgrade to v4 ... the boost scalar when you calibated in v3 could be off a bit (living at 5000 ft altitude really affects barometric pressure and we didn't have the right correction factor ... v3 was pretty close, but didn't always correct enough on recalibrate).

Thanks Ken, I will download ver 4.0 then. I am talking more than 1-2 psi also.

I just sent you a file to look at on turbolink discussion website. Thanks

You aren't going by the factory gauge are you?

Brian

No I am not going by factory gage, my VDO gage. To test this I hooked an air source to a known test gage, the boost sensor and VDO gage. All read within .5-.8 psi up to 21 psi.

I found out my turboboost dash lites come on at 2 psi and 5 psi.

It must be the update time of TL vs what I see on the boost gage or the difference on where the pressure is sensed (gage is at port on compressor and boost sensor is read off TB vaccum block).

Anything else worth checking out?

So ... TurboLink is showing within one psi of boost of the gauges?

If so, that's about as close as you'll see, since we round to the nearest 1/2 psi.

Yea, but dont forget this is with an air source. I still have yet to find out why the difference with actual turbo boost.

Ken, did you get the file I sent to turbolink discussion board?

Thanks, paul

Haven't had a chance to look ... Jason should have got it, but we haven't "synch'ed" up yet.

Busy getting ready to go to the Nationals!:) I'm cranked!
