o.k., so i take the car out to play on sunday afternoon. run through the gears and i'm sitting at 22-23 psi no knock. well i hit 4th gear and the thing rocketed to 27-28 psi. also, the wastegate is as far in as it will go and that's all the boost i can get. do i just need a heavy duty acutuator to fix this, what gives? i have a buddy ( 87natl ) who is running 22 psi with no problem and has trouble keeping the boost down. i want to turn it up and i can't. he doesn't have a heavy duty actuator although he does use something similar to a grainger valve to control boost. would that help me? i just want to see how much boost i can run on alky with no detonation, i've already run 22-23 psi and i know it'll do that. i'm curious as to how much more it will handle without detonation on alky, race chip, and pump gas.
