This may not be the right place to list this post but, I have never been to Bowling Green that everyone keeps talking about...Whats there to do there besides the obvious: Looking at cars, Info, Parts....Is there a fee to get in? When is it? How many days does it last? Is it worth going if my car is not running(piece of crap)...Anyway, just kinda wandering what to excpect if I go.....Thanks in Advance....By the way, it would probably take the whole Buick Regal community to get my piece running right or at least to help me burn it in a big bon fire to entertain the masses......lol,lol

If your into turbo buicks, it's freakin Christmas in May! If your into turbo powered anything it's pretty awesome. If you like fast cool rides it's pretty good for $20 and being in Tennessee your not too far. Plenty of places to eat, Corvette museaum and the corvette manufacturing plant gives tours through the week (or they did when I was in high school).:D

Not too mention Beech Bend's water park and amusement park is within walking distance of the track. Good for the kids. Seriously, if you are into Turbo Buicks, and or any model of Buick for that matter, this is the biggest event of the year. Once you've gone, you will be hooked. I've been going since '95 and only had to miss 1 year due to work back in '96. Bowling Green is one of the nicest areas you will ever visit and the track, with it's layout and covered seating so close to the track just can't be beat.

Oh yeah, forgot about the amusement park, they built a really cool ALL WOOD construction roller coaster. If your motor blows, you can always get your kicks on a coaster ride!:D

It's all about the atmosphere, nothing but Buicks, lot's of Grand Sports the last time I was there, not to mention all of the vendor's... like was said above. It's like being inside a Buick candy store.

it's frickin awesome...i went last year with my dad, the best car thing i have ever been to. Just bring a crap load of money cause you will definetly be buying stuff. My dad went there with no intentions of buying anything and he ended spending a couple K'. Everyone down there is really laid back and they's are lot of knowledge to be learned from talking with other TR owners/vendors.

Its awesome, the whole city comes out and celebrates us being there. All the hotels and lot of local places have banners out "Welcome Grand Nationals!" or "Welcome Buicks!" with a turbo six logo. As said, its laid back, people are nice. My buddy was hung over one morning and I was hungry, I decided to go to the Waffle House (love the grits) by myself. I sat down and ordered my food only to have another Buick buy ask why I was by myself. After my little story of how drunk my friend was he invited me to sit with him and his buddies, all TR guys. We sat and BS'd for a while, just a bunch of Buick guys everywhere, if you have something on showing your a Buick guy its like everyone is your extended family while you are there.

The vendors are plenty and the prices are nice. I usually spend around two grand each time I am there on stuff I didnt even think I needed until I saw it. This year I am planning on buying a driver seat, injectors, and a hood insulator. The place is great to go just to save on shipping, call up a vendor and order your part, they will most likely deliver it to Bowling Green so you can just pick it up.

Not to mention that big racers are all friendly too. You can mill around the pits, see what they have for sale out of their trailer and talk with them. My buddy Allen races his twin turbo T-type down there, nicest guy around. He doesnt mind if you walk up and check his car out, in fact he is quite proud to have a low 8 second car with working lights, power windows, and full glass.

If your walking through the pits and see a yellow Regal with GNX vents chances are I will be milling around it. I fix his computer, he lets me poke around his car for ideas for my own. :D

The entire town of BG is taken over by BUICKS! Thats what its all about! You cant turn town any street without seeing a BUICK! Oh, beer and food is also part of the fun!;)

I am bringing my wife and kids if I go so prostitution is not on the list....Nobody's yet to tell me when it is...All the other info is great..Also, how long does it last....Thanks

May 15th to May 20th is when it is and how long it lasts. If you just want to go for the racing then show up on Friday. If your just going to try and score some deals from the vendors then show up Tuesday. Otherwise you can count on seeing so much test & tune, bracket racing, qualifying, and the super 16 guys you will be Buick'd out for a while.

I go for the whole package so I will be there from Wednesday night till Sunday morning.

Nope. It's just a dirt spot now. They shut down and razed the building over a year ago. Of course that pissed me off because I was a 'member' and they didn't even notify me! :p

They moved. I'll show you the way to the new location.;)

but do they have karaoke? If they have karaoke then that'll be the clincher for me, I'll definetly go. :p

OMG I can't stop laughing!!!!!
GS Nationals?? That's what that is. For years I've been trying to figure out why there are so many Buicks in BG when we take our annual trip to Uncle Sam's.

Clay, I still don't know if I'm off work to make the trip.

Don't ask them anymore. Just don't say anything about it anymore. If they don't say anything just go. When you get back you can tell them that they didn't say you couldn't have off.
