BQ Transmission ?'s

Ok, experts.

I was given a BQ 2004r, which if i'm not mistaken is the correct for an 84/85 car. Was wondering the differences between this and a BRF valve body. And for a street/strip combo car would/could this be a trans to use? I do plan on having this rebuild by Janis, but what needs changed, if anything, to have it ready to handle the HP?

The BQ is a great transmission to start with. The valve body is calibrated very close to the BRF. Regarding modifications, look at the sticky post at the top of the transmission forum called 'Strengthening the 2004R'.
