Pulled my 87 GN out of moth balls Friday. Drove for 1 hour to a car show and 1 hour back. My brakes seemed soft. Got home ok. The next day there was a small puddle of brake fluid on the concrete. So I went looking for the point of the leak but could not find it. The fluid on the brake reservoir was only on the bottom of the reservoir, brakes mount, steering coupler boot, top of upper swing arm, the proportioning valve and the frame. Today I plan on removing the chrome plate from around the bowl and look again. Writing and talking things out loud sometimes helps me see things clearer. May be it was leaking around the rubber on the top of the bowl or reservoir. If it did leak there the next question is why is it leaking there? TIA

Was the puddle behind the drivers side tire? Is the gasket on the reservoir lid seated correctly? I've seen it leak from the lid like that. I had a puddle behind my front tire and it ended up being the o ring on the motor. Hope you get it sorted out. Feel around the back side of your PM motor towards the bottom. That's where mine was, couldn't see it from any angle.

I cleaned every thing. Next time out I will check out the o ring.

Also check the nipple where the rubber hose connects to the bottom of the reservoir

Check pressure switch on top, they are bad about leaking and can run down and usually puddle behind front wheel.

Did you have your fluid topped of to the top of the reservoir when you took your trip. Just asking could have depressurized your brake system and the fluid pushed its way out the top!

I went through this exact same scenario last spring- After checking all the possibilities and wiping and rechecking a bunch of times it turned out to be the pump leaking through the case. As this was the 4th PM in my GN I was tired of the recurrent problems and retired the Powermaster system in favor of a vacuum set-up at the recommendation of cotton's performance. Only wish I did it before buying the last 3 rebuilt PM$$$$
