Does anyone no of a brake recall for the 87 GN's. I was looking at a GN on ebay and it sais he has all of the papers--- including brake recall. I have all of my papers but my car was never taken in for a brake recall and lists no re-calls on Carfax. Thanks ----Jeremy

Thank you very much for your reply! I just learned something new tonight. Do you know how to find out if this has been replace or not. I bought my car from the original owner and she didn't know for sure. Do you ever have any problems with the resivuor cap coming of and leaking fluid? I can tell that this has happen a few times on my car becasue the bracket below is rusty. After I bought the car, the cap popped off while driving down the road. I check the cap and seal and there was no damage or wear. I dunno, just get a little nervous when i see recalls!!! Thanks -----Jeremy

LOL-

yeah, its over filled with fluid-
spend 20 seconds reading the instructions on the resivior cap-

pump it up BEFORE you add fluid to it:)

there was another 87 recal on the chip for most of the 87 turbo cars , theres a vin start and cutoff for the recall
the acwx was supposed to be replaced with the bbkj chip to comply with emmisions but most ddnt go in because it was rumored to be a tamer chip
that recall shouldnt matter as the stock chip doesnt seem to like todays 93 under boost

when you pop the reservior lid you have to be sure to pull the seal off the reservior and replace it into the cap before putting the cap back , and then make sure all clips snap down

as to the brake fix of the pressure switch (sticking up behind the reservior) the original ones were black , if its still black on your car it never got fixed under the recall, the replacements are gray

take the car to the dealer and they will tell you from running the vin.

The dealership probably wont know from checking your vin because I just did the same thing. You may have to spend an hour on the phone getting transfered around like I did. But I was able to bring it to the dealer and get the part replaced even though the recall happened in the late 80s or early 90s. Because it has to do with the brakes it dosen't matter how long ago it was recalled they still have to fix it.

Hope I helped
Phil

Great, thanks guys!! I know that the seal needs to be replaced correctly before it to work properly but the problem I was having happened twice in a short period of time so that kind of threw me off!!! Maybe it is just a kiwinkidink!!!!!! I appreciate everyones help and will have to check out that pressure switch!! ---Jeremy
