I HAVE A 87 TURBO T. THE BRAKE LIGHT WOULD COME ON WHEN YOU HIT THE BRAKES AND THEY FELT SPOONGE AND WENT TOO FAR DOWN THE LIGHT ALWAYS WENT BACK OFF I BLEED THE BRAKES AND THE MASTER CYLINDER OVERFLOWED I THEN FOUND A SMALL CUT IN THE GASKET SO I BOUGHT A NEW GASKET AND LID DOES THIS MEAN THAT I SHOULD HAVE CONVERTED TO THE VACUUM ASSIST OR DO I NEED SOMETHING ELSE IM UNFORTUNTLY SELLING THE CAR:( :( BECAUSE IT HAS RAN ME BROKE HELP THANKS TONY

Could stand a little more information. The cap/gasket has nothing to do with the light coming on. The light will illuminate because of a failure with the Powermaster, or an imbalance in the brake hydraulics, which I would suspect due to your statement of the "low pedal". Pull the drums, make sure there are no leaky wheel cylinders, look over the steel lines for leaks etc., make sure brake shoes are properly adjusted etc, and report back!
