I have recently put my turbo back on my car, it was apart for about a year sitting in the garage. Man the car just started right up and is running perfect. Nothing wrong. except the braking system. I replaced the power master unit about 2 years ago so i dont think that would be it, it might. but when i go to stop it stops. but i have to put my foot under the brake to pull up on the brake. it doesnt automaticly come back. anyone else have this problem????

f

ANYONE OUT THEIR KNOW WHY MY BRAKE PEDAL DOESNT COME UP ON ITS OWN???? It stops fine but i have to pull up on the brake pedal after i brake...

It may not help but this sounds like when you are bleeding the brakes and you press all the way down and it won't come back up.

Check the obvious, brake fluid, lines etc. There is a troubleshooting chart for the PM somewhere. I think it is on gnttype.org. That may help you out. I switched to vacuum a while ago.

Sounds like your master cylinder is full of crud and the plunger is not releasing.

If it is one of the "lifetime" units, replace it. Nothing in the wheel cylinders or brake lines will cause this problem. If you are in weather that is always damp, it can help this to occur.

Yeah that is what I was thinking. When you bleed your brakes, you press down farther then you ever do normally and all the crud that the piston never sees it is now trying to get through. I agree with Nick.

What color is the fluid? I was reading somewhere and found it interesting that brake fluid darkens in color as it absorbs water. Don't know how valid that info is but if yours is black, you need to change it.
