I think he is saying that it depends on the boost you are planning to run. Low boost... 17# or so... I am sure they would be sufficient. I am sure he will clarify.... but that is the jist of it....

You will definately be able to get away with more boost even on those injectors... if you have an alky kit. The fuel required through the injectors will be less... because you are entering extra fuel with the alky kit......

Is the turbo and the boost bleeder still available? If so, I'm interested for $600 shipped to 62097.

This turbo is still for sale!

6-Banger backed out

3.8L V-8 eater the turbo will work fine with 36ers but i suggest getting a alky kit to take full advantage of higher boost levels!

Buy it :)

STILL AVAILABLE

what size turob is on the right, looks mean. How much do they go for ?? Just curious....Thanks

The one on the right is a precision PTE 70- GTQ with the .85 housing.

I think they were on sale awhile back for 1300? I forget, I have too many numbers rolling around in my head right now.

Is that a Ball Bearing turbo? what would the max be HP wise. and what size injectors, stall etc... Thinking of upgrading

It is available in ball bearing. That feature just came out for the GTQ setup.

The horsepower would put the car into the mid 9s or faster is pretty much where everyone is running when the car is setup right.

83's with a tweak chip and a 3800 non lockup stall and probably a turbo 400 to handle the power. Id get a hipster aluminum valve body with t-brake and it will handle 1000 horsepower no problem.

83s, 70GTQ, ported aluminum heads on a 4 steel cap stock block and guys are running mid 9s in a full weight car.

Mine is still being put together, and the 70 isnt for sale.

PM me if you need help getting your setup / combo right.

Don't know if this is too much turbo for my stock converter?? This turbo requires 2700 stall, but if the price is right I can work my way up to it!! I still have the stock down pipe headers etc. would I need that plate you mentioned earlier in this thread with the external wastegate???

625 dollars for a brand spanking new TE-44 turbo and this thing is still not sold? Unbelievable! If I still had a daily driver TR it would be on it B! RJC bleeder alone is 40 bux! Hell, throw in a case of beer, maybe then somebody will jump on it??:o

I tell you this, If you go to my garage in my sig and view the dyno graph with 440 horse and 615 torque. Those pulls were with a stock exhaust elbow, stock D5 convertor, and a 2 1/4 test pipe. My car was running low 11s with a very similar PTE TE-44 turbo with a ATR downpipe.

Yeah it was a little doggy in first gear, but that was in 1999, 2000,2001

Today there are better boost controllers out there, see above, and those will overcome the lag common to a stock buick with a larger turbo on it.

I put a TA 49 turbo, bluetops, erics alky chip and a RJC bleeder on my dads WE4 with a THDP. With the stock D5 convertor the car spools pretty darned close to the stock setup. That bleeder valve along with erics chip makes the car spool pretty quick.
Set the boost to 22 and turn the timing and alky up

As for your car, you really dont need a external gated downpipe. As in if your going to be running 23psi of boost, there really isnt a need for a external gate to expell a whole lot of exhaust to slow the turbo down. A stock wastegate actuator would get you a low boost of 16psi pretty easily if its adjustable.

I would just buy a RJC plate to get a new surface for the stock elbow puck to seat on, correctly :)

I hope that clears some things up for you..

Yeah Neil.... Guess i should have just put it on ebay.

Had a engine harness for sale here for awhile, sold on ebay buy it now for 50 more than i had it for sale here. Also sold it in less than 12 hours :)

I raised the price for ebays 10% fees!
