Hey, guys, I am in the process of putting my car back on the road after being parked for several years. This is a fresh rebuild with billet caps and flat tappet cam. I broke in the cam per instructions, and things look ok. All of my pushrods are spinning nicely, so I think I am in the clear. My question is about visible bits of break in material in the oil. I have changed the oil twice in the first 100 miles or so. I have some visible grey dust like particles in the oil, which are deminishing with each oil change. How long should I expect to go before a proper break in is complete, and the oil clears up. I expect that this is normal cam, ring, bearing, etc. dust from the break in. No chunks, and great oil pressure. Thanks, Counterman.

Its probably Molylube, used by the builder. Normal break in is 500 miles this is where your going to see the most amount of debris due to everything wearing into one another.
