Valve body is clearly paint marked BR3 and only one pressure switch .the port for the 2nd switch is not tapped and has a soft plug in it . any one see this before ? this a first for me . BTW i pulled this from a untouched 86 BRF unit .

not me.does it have a small spring on the 2/3 shift valve/what code is the accumulator valve?

2/3 has the orange spring 1/4 x 1-1/16 # 15 stamped on bushing accumulator valve letter code cast on inside A F H and 1-2 throttle valve bushing is stamped #14 . going to pull it apart and throw it in the jet wash later today . also the tag on the case is BR not BRF .

not me eithier ..done a lot of shift kits and have prob 12 trannys left here .. none like yours

Ive seen it on a code BR (no F)transmission out of an 83 regal T-type. Only one pressure switch if i remember correctly. I have one somewhere if anyone wants more info on it. It had the small throttle valve also. Not sure about the shift valves and springs though. Maybe the one you have was a GM replacement out of an 83? The 84-87 TR's are supposed to have a 3rd and 4th switch.

Definitely sounds like an 83 trans to me. Is it a blue tag? The BR i have is. You may not want to use that valvebody if it is. What is the date code on the trans? Post in the before black section and see if anyone can verify my info. Btw, i personally parted out the 83 t-type myself and it had the correct VINon the trans in it so i assume im correct.

can any one tell me what this trans is good or bad
Looks like it may be a GM remanufactured unit. Is the tag near the output or towards the middle of the trans?

towards the middle of the trans right above the black plug

Bruce took a look at your pics and said it is most likely a SERTA unit from GM. The paint on the valve body though was painted on and is not a true BR unit.

I just did one of these SERTA units about two mos. ago for a friend. It had a CZ valve body but the springs and valves all matched a BRF unit, and the tag was stamped like the one in your earlier post. No major probs except the normal burned friction in direct. I have been waiting for feed back on it. It had the correct servo and governor also.
